Description

A refreshing and creamy Tzatziki Sauce Dip that is perfect for dipping pita bread, vegetables, or as a sauce for grilled meats. This Greek-inspired sauce is made with Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, dill, lemon juice, and olive oil for a burst of Mediterranean flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

Greek Yogurt Mixture:

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 large cucumber, grated and excess water squeezed out
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tzatziki Sauce: In a medium bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, dill, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Stir until well blended.
  2. Adjust Seasoning: Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  3. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.
  4. Serve: Serve chilled as a dip for pita bread, fresh vegetables, or as a sauce for grilled meats and gyros.

Notes

  • For a smoother texture, you can blend the sauce briefly in a food processor.
  • If making ahead, keep covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
