Description

A flavorful and healthy Sweet and Spicy Baked Cauliflower recipe featuring tender roasted cauliflower florets tossed in a sticky honey, garlic, and sriracha glaze. This dish is garnished with green onions and sesame seeds, offering a perfect balance of sweetness and heat. It’s an easy-to-make, guilt-free side or snack that cooks quickly in the oven.

Ingredients

Scale

Cauliflower

  • 1 large head of cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
  • Cooking oil spray
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Glaze

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce or coconut aminos
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp gluten-free flour or cornstarch (for thickening)

Garnish

  • 1 tbsp green onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cauliflower: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Spray a large baking sheet with cooking oil spray. Spread the cauliflower florets evenly on the sheet and season them with garlic salt, salt, and pepper to taste.
  2. Roast Cauliflower: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast the cauliflower for 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through, until the florets are golden and tender.
  3. Make the Glaze: While the cauliflower roasts, combine honey, minced garlic, low-sodium soy sauce or coconut aminos, sriracha, hoisin sauce, and gluten-free flour or cornstarch in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously until the mixture thickens slightly and is well combined, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Toss Cauliflower in Glaze: Remove the roasted cauliflower from the oven and transfer to a large mixing bowl. Pour the warm glaze over the cauliflower and gently toss until all florets are evenly coated.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Transfer the glazed cauliflower to a serving dish. Sprinkle sliced green onions and sesame seeds on top for added flavor and crunch. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute honey with maple syrup for a vegan option.
  • Adjust the sriracha amount to control the spice level.
  • For extra crispiness, broil the cauliflower for 1-2 minutes at the end of roasting, watching carefully to avoid burning.
  • This recipe is gluten-free if using gluten-free soy sauce and flour.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
