  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (for shortcake)
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Whipped Cream:

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for whipped cream)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberries: Toss sliced strawberries with sugar and let sit for 30 minutes.
  2. Make the Shortcakes: Preheat oven, mix dry ingredients, cut in butter, add milk and vanilla, form and bake shortcakes.
  3. Whip the Cream: Beat heavy cream with sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
