Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Prepare dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients: Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in batches, mixing until a soft dough forms. Stir in the milk.
- Form dough balls: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, and coat each ball in granulated sugar.
- Bake: Place the dough balls on the baking sheets and bake for 8–10 minutes until the edges are set but the centers are slightly soft.
- Cool and enjoy: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
