Ingredients
Scale
Eggs
- 5 large eggs
- Salt and pepper to taste
Dough
- 1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury™ refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
Fillings
- 8 sausage links
- 4 slices Cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the roll-ups.
- Beat the eggs: In a small bowl, beat all 5 eggs thoroughly, then reserve 2 tablespoons of this beaten egg for brushing the crescent rolls later.
- Scramble the eggs: Cook the remaining beaten eggs in a pan over medium heat, stirring frequently until fully scrambled and cooked through. Remove from heat.
- Prepare the dough: Unroll the crescent dough onto a clean work surface and separate it into 8 individual triangles.
- Add the cheese: Cut each slice of cheddar cheese in half to make 8 pieces. Place one half slice on each dough triangle.
- Assemble the roll-ups: Spoon a portion of the scrambled eggs onto each triangle on top of the cheese, then place one sausage link over the eggs.
- Roll them up: Starting from the wide end, loosely roll up each triangle containing the fillings and place them seam-side down on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Apply egg wash and season: Brush the tops with the reserved beaten egg for a glossy finish and sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes or until the roll-ups are golden brown and the dough is cooked through.
Notes
- You can substitute breakfast sausage links with turkey sausage for a leaner option.
- To save time, use pre-cooked sausage links if preferred.
- Cheese options like mozzarella or pepper jack work well for variety.
- Serve with your favorite hot sauce or ketchup for added flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven or microwave.
