Description

A deliciously rich and easy-to-make no-bake dessert featuring crushed Tim Tam biscuits combined with coconut, cocoa, and condensed milk, topped with a smooth dark chocolate layer. Perfect for quick preparation with a classic Australian twist.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 2 packets (14 ounces total) Tim Tam biscuits, crushed
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Topping

  • 200 grams (7 ounces) dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Grease and line an 8×12-inch baking pan with parchment paper, ensuring some overhang for easy removal of the slice after chilling.
  2. Mix the Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed Tim Tam biscuits, sweetened condensed milk, melted butter, desiccated coconut, and cocoa powder. Stir the mixture thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  3. Press the Base: Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan and press it down firmly with a spatula to create an even, compact layer for the base.
  4. Melt the Chocolate Topping: Place chopped dark chocolate and vegetable oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
  5. Assemble the Slice: Pour the melted chocolate evenly over the biscuit base and spread it out with a spatula to cover completely.
  6. Chill to Set: Refrigerate the slice for at least 2 hours, or until the chocolate topping is firm and set.
  7. Serve: Once set, lift the slice out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang and cut into 20 squares or bars. Serve chilled.

Notes

  • For a fun variation, try using caramel or mint flavored Tim Tams instead of the classic variety.
  • Store the Tim Tam slice in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  • For longer storage, freeze the slice for up to 2 months; thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
