Ingredients
Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 2 ½ cups pecan halves, finely chopped
- 1 cup brown sugar
Wet Ingredients
- ½ cup pure maple syrup
- 6 to 8 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Coating
- 24 ounces chocolate almond bark
Instructions
- Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, brown sugar, chopped pecans, and pure maple syrup. Gradually add the melted butter and vanilla extract, mixing until the mixture can be formed into firm balls.
- Form Balls and Chill: Roll the mixture into 1-inch diameter balls and place them on a parchment paper-lined tray. Chill the balls in the refrigerator or freezer for about one hour to set and firm up.
- Melt Chocolate: Melt the chocolate almond bark according to package instructions, usually by heating in short intervals in the microwave or using a double boiler until smooth.
- Coat Balls with Chocolate: Dip each chilled pecan ball into the melted chocolate ensuring it is fully coated. Place the chocolate-coated balls back on the parchment-lined tray.
- Set Chocolate: Allow the chocolate coating to harden completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator before serving.
Notes
- Use parchment paper or silicone mats to prevent sticking during chilling and chocolate coating.
- You can substitute almond bark with dark or milk chocolate if preferred.
- Store pecan balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- For a nuttier flavor, toast the pecans lightly before chopping.
- If mixture is too crumbly, add a little more melted butter or maple syrup to bind.
