Ingredients
Scale
Crust
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Cream Cheese Layer
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups whipped topping, divided
Fruit Layers
- 3 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained well
- 1 cup sliced strawberries
Toppings
- Chocolate syrup, for drizzling
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 12 maraschino cherries
Instructions
- Prepare the crust: In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix until evenly combined, then press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish to form a solid crust layer.
- Make the cream cheese mixture: In a separate bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in half of the whipped topping to lighten the mixture.
- Assemble the first layers: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the prepared crust. Layer the sliced bananas evenly over the cream layer, followed by the drained crushed pineapple and sliced strawberries to create vibrant fruit layers.
- Add final topping layers: Spread the remaining whipped topping over the fruit layers to cover them completely. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the top, sprinkle with chopped nuts, and garnish each serving spot with a maraschino cherry.
- Chill to set: Cover the dish with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to allow the dessert to set properly and flavors to meld before serving.
Notes
- Ensure the crushed pineapple is very well drained to prevent the crust and dessert from becoming soggy.
- Slice bananas just before assembling the dessert to minimize browning and maintain fresh appearance.
