Ingredients
Scale
Seafood
- 2 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 8 oz large shrimp, peeled and deveined
Seasonings and Condiments
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and gently pat dry with paper towels. Peel and devein the shrimp, ensuring they are clean and ready to cook.
- Sauté Garlic: Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the unsalted butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
- Cook Shrimp: Add the peeled shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper if using. Cook the shrimp for 3 to 4 minutes, turning occasionally until they turn pink and are opaque.
- Cook Salmon: Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet with the shrimp. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper. Cook undisturbed for 5 to 6 minutes until the skin is golden brown and the salmon is nearly cooked through.
- Add Lemon and Simmer: Squeeze fresh lemon juice evenly over the salmon and shrimp. Reduce heat slightly and let simmer for another 2 to 3 minutes until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the dish and serve hot, ideally alongside steamed rice or vegetables for a balanced meal.
Notes
- Ensure salmon skin is dry for crispier texture when cooking.
- Do not overcrowd the skillet to ensure even cooking of both shrimp and salmon.
- Use fresh lemon juice for the best brightness and flavor.
- Adjust cayenne pepper to your desired spice level or omit for a milder dish.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the seafood at its freshest and most tender.
