Description

A quick and flavorful seafood dish featuring succulent salmon fillets and tender shrimp sautéed in garlic butter, finished with fresh lemon juice and parsley for a vibrant, easy-to-make meal perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale

Seafood

  • 2 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 8 oz large shrimp, peeled and deveined

Seasonings and Condiments

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and gently pat dry with paper towels. Peel and devein the shrimp, ensuring they are clean and ready to cook.
  2. Sauté Garlic: Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the unsalted butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Cook Shrimp: Add the peeled shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper if using. Cook the shrimp for 3 to 4 minutes, turning occasionally until they turn pink and are opaque.
  4. Cook Salmon: Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet with the shrimp. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper. Cook undisturbed for 5 to 6 minutes until the skin is golden brown and the salmon is nearly cooked through.
  5. Add Lemon and Simmer: Squeeze fresh lemon juice evenly over the salmon and shrimp. Reduce heat slightly and let simmer for another 2 to 3 minutes until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the dish and serve hot, ideally alongside steamed rice or vegetables for a balanced meal.

Notes

  • Ensure salmon skin is dry for crispier texture when cooking.
  • Do not overcrowd the skillet to ensure even cooking of both shrimp and salmon.
  • Use fresh lemon juice for the best brightness and flavor.
  • Adjust cayenne pepper to your desired spice level or omit for a milder dish.
  • Serve immediately to enjoy the seafood at its freshest and most tender.
