  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Streusel Topping:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cubed and chilled

Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla, sour cream, lemon zest, and lemon juice until smooth.
  4. Gradually stir in dry ingredients until just combined. Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, egg, and lemon zest until smooth. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the batter, then top with the remaining batter.
  6. For the streusel, combine flour and brown sugar, then cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over the cake.
  7. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely.
