Ingredients
Scale
Hot Dogs
- 6 all-beef hot dogs
- 6 wooden skewers
Dough
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 tablespoon coconut flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons yellow mustard
Others
- Avocado oil spray for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready for cooking when your corn dogs are assembled.
- Prepare Hot Dogs: Insert wooden skewers lengthwise into each hot dog, making sure they are secure. Set aside.
- Melt Cheese Mixture: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine shredded mozzarella and heavy cream. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the cheese is melted and smooth.
- Make Dough: In a mixing bowl, whisk together almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder. Add eggs, yellow mustard, and the melted cheese mixture. Mix thoroughly until a sticky dough forms.
- Shape Dough Around Hot Dogs: Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. With oiled or chilled hands, flatten each portion into a patty and carefully wrap it around each hot dog, sealing the edges completely to encase the hot dog.
- Air Fry: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with avocado oil. Place 2 to 3 corn dogs per batch into the basket without overcrowding. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, turning halfway through, until the exterior is golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Remove cooked corn dogs and serve warm with keto-friendly ketchup or mustard.
Notes
- If the dough is sticky and difficult to handle, chill it in the refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes or lightly oil your hands when shaping.
- You can substitute turkey or chicken hot dogs for a leaner option.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator and reheat in the air fryer for 2 to 3 minutes for best results.
