Description

These Homemade Big Mac Wraps are a delicious and healthier twist on the classic Big Mac burger, wrapped in soft flour tortillas and loaded with savory ground beef, crisp lettuce, sharp cheddar cheese, tangy pickles, and a special sauce that mimics the original. Ready in 30 minutes, they’re perfect for a quick, satisfying meal that the whole family will enjoy.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef and Vegetables

  • 1 lb lean ground beef (80/20)
  • ½ cup finely chopped onions (red or yellow)
  • 1 cup chopped iceberg lettuce
  • ½ cup sliced dill pickles

Wrap and Cheese

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Special Sauce

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp relish
  • 1 tsp mustard (optional, for sauce enhancement)

Instructions

  1. Brown the Beef: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally until fully browned. Drain any excess fat to reduce greasiness.
  2. Cook Onions: Add the finely chopped onions to the skillet with the beef. Continue to cook for about 3 minutes more until the onions become translucent. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Make Special Sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, and mustard. Mix well until smooth to create the special sauce that adds the signature Big Mac flavor.
  4. Assemble Wraps: Lay each flour tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread a generous layer of the special sauce evenly over each tortilla. Then add a portion of the beef and onion mixture, followed by shredded cheddar cheese, chopped lettuce, and sliced dill pickles on top.
  5. Roll Wraps: Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling, then roll it tightly from one end to the other to secure all ingredients inside. Use toothpicks if needed to keep the wraps closed.
  6. Optional Grilling: For a warm, crispy finish, place each wrap back in the skillet over medium heat. Grill for about 2 minutes per side or until golden brown on the outside. Remove from heat and serve immediately, with extra special sauce on the side if desired.

Notes

  • You can substitute sharp cheddar with American cheese for a more traditional Big Mac taste.
  • To make the wraps gluten-free, use gluten-free tortillas instead of regular flour tortillas.
  • The special sauce can be prepared ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Adding mustard to the special sauce enhances authenticity but can be omitted for a milder taste.
  • To reduce calories, use ground turkey instead of ground beef and low-fat mayonnaise.
