Ingredients
Scale
Rice and Vegetables
- 3 cups cooked rice
- 1/2 cup frozen peas and carrots
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
Oils and Sauces
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
Eggs and Seasoning
- 2 eggs, beaten
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat the oil and garlic: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Cook the vegetables: Add the frozen peas and carrots to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until they are tender and heated through.
- Scramble the eggs: Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet. Pour the beaten eggs into the empty space and scramble them until fully cooked.
- Add rice and seasonings: Add the cooked rice, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine all ingredients and cook for 3-5 minutes, allowing the rice to heat through and absorb the flavors.
- Serve: Serve the garlic fried rice warm as a side dish or light meal and enjoy!
Notes
- Use day-old cooked rice for best texture; freshly cooked rice can be too soft.
- Adjust soy sauce quantity according to your salt preference.
- Optional: add sliced green onions or a dash of chili flakes for extra flavor.
- For a vegetarian version, omit eggs or substitute with tofu scramble.
