Ingredients
Scale
Crust
- 10 graham crackers, crushed
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Pinch of salt
Filling
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 8 oz chocolate bars, chopped
- 2 cups large marshmallows
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the crust.
- Make the Crust: In a bowl, combine the crushed graham crackers, melted butter, and a pinch of salt. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated and press this mixture firmly into the bottom of an 8-inch square baking dish to form the crust layer.
- Bake the Crust: Bake the crust in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until it turns golden brown. Remove it from the oven and allow it to cool completely before adding the filling.
- Heat the Cream: While the crust cools, heat the heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat until it starts steaming—be careful not to boil it.
- Make Chocolate Filling: Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate bars in a bowl and let it sit for a few minutes. Then stir gently until the chocolate melts fully and forms a smooth, glossy ganache.
- Add Marshmallows: Fold the large marshmallows into the warm chocolate ganache until they are evenly distributed.
- Assemble and Freeze: Pour the chocolate and marshmallow filling over the cooled graham cracker crust, spreading it out evenly. Cover the dish and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight to set the dessert.
- Serve: Once frozen, slice into 9 squares and serve chilled for a refreshing and indulgent treat.
Notes
- For best results, ensure the crust is fully cooled before adding the filling to prevent melting the ganache.
- You can substitute the chocolate bars with your favorite type of chocolate such as semi-sweet or milk chocolate.
- If large marshmallows are not available, mini marshmallows can be used but the texture will be slightly different.
- Store any leftover s’mores covered in the freezer for up to one week.
- Let the dessert sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes before serving if it’s too hard to cut.
