Ingredients
Scale
Sugar Mixture:
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup light corn syrup
- 2/3 cup water
Additional Ingredients:
- 1 packet unsweetened Kool-Aid mix (any flavor)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- Lollipop sticks
- Nonstick spray or parchment paper
Instructions
- Prepare Lollipop Sticks: Spray a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper and place the lollipop sticks spaced apart.
- Create Sugar Mixture: In a heavy saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then bring to a boil without stirring further. Continue boiling until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard-crack stage) on a candy thermometer.
- Add Flavor and Fizz: Remove from heat and carefully stir in the Kool-Aid powder until fully dissolved. Quickly stir in the baking soda; the mixture will bubble and foam, giving it a fizzy texture.
- Form Lollipops: Immediately spoon small pools of candy over the tops of the lollipop sticks on the prepared sheet, swirling slightly to form circles.
- Cool and Store: Allow to cool and harden completely before removing from the sheet. Store in an airtight container.
Notes
- Work quickly once the baking soda is added, as the candy sets fast.
- Use different Kool-Aid flavors to make colorful assortments.
- Avoid humidity, as it can make lollipops sticky.
