Description
Dill Pickle Ranch Chicken Wings are a flavorful twist on classic wings, marinated in tangy dill pickle juice and coated with zesty ranch seasoning. These wings are baked to crispy perfection and make an irresistible appetizer or main course for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Wings:
- 2 pounds chicken wings (drumettes and flats)
- 1 cup dill pickle juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (1 oz)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For Garnish and Serving (Optional):
- Chopped fresh dill for garnish
- Ranch dressing for serving
Instructions
- Marinate the Wings: Place the chicken wings in a large resealable plastic bag or bowl and pour in the dill pickle juice. Seal or cover and refrigerate to marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best flavor. After marinating, drain the wings and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels.
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or place a wire rack on the baking sheet for even cooking and crispiness.
- Season the Wings: In a large bowl, toss the wings with olive oil, ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, and black pepper until they are evenly coated.
- Arrange and Bake: Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway through to ensure even browning and crispiness.
- Optional Broiling: For extra crispiness, broil the wings for an additional 2–3 minutes at the end of baking, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- Garnish and Serve: Garnish the wings with chopped fresh dill if desired and serve hot with ranch dressing for dipping.
Notes
- You can also cook these wings in an air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking.
- Marinating the wings is key to infusing them with pickle flavor, so do not skip this step.
- For a gluten-free version, ensure the ranch seasoning mix does not contain gluten.
- Adjust seasoning and spice level to taste by adding cayenne pepper or smoked paprika if desired.
