Description

Crockpot Candy is an easy and delightful holiday treat that combines rich chocolate and crunchy peanuts, melted together in a slow cooker. This recipe produces sweet, nutty clusters that are perfect for gifting or enjoying as a festive snack. With minimal prep and simple ingredients, it’s a foolproof way to satisfy your candy cravings and spread holiday cheer.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate and Candy Coatings

  • 2 pounds almond bark or vanilla candy coating
  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
  • 4 ounces milk chocolate

Peanuts

  • 16 ounces dry roasted peanuts
  • 8 ounces salted peanuts

Optional Toppings

  • 1/2 cup holiday sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Layer Ingredients: In the slow cooker, layer the almond bark or vanilla candy coating, semi-sweet chocolate, milk chocolate, dry roasted peanuts, and salted peanuts. Make sure they are spread evenly for smooth melting.
  2. Melt and Stir: Cover the slow cooker with its lid and cook on low for 1 to 2 hours. Stir occasionally during cooking to ensure the chocolates melt evenly and combine smoothly with the nuts.
  3. Coat the Peanuts: Once the chocolate is fully melted and smooth, stir thoroughly to coat all the peanuts evenly with the melted chocolate mixture.
  4. Form Clusters: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a spoon, drop spoonfuls of the peanut-chocolate mixture onto the paper, shaping them into small clusters.
  5. Add Sprinkles: If desired, sprinkle holiday-themed sprinkles on top of the clusters for added color and festivity.
  6. Cool and Set: Allow the clusters to cool at room temperature until firm. To speed up setting, place them in the refrigerator.
  7. Store: Once set, store the candy clusters in an airtight container to maintain freshness.

Notes

  • These candies make excellent holiday gifts when packaged in decorative tins.
  • You can swap the peanuts with pecans, cashews, or mixed nuts for variation.
  • Adding white chocolate chips gives extra sweetness and a delightful texture contrast.
