Ingredients
Scale
Cookie Dough:
- ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- ¾ cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour (heat-treated)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
Coating:
- 10 oz semi-sweet chocolate or chocolate candy coating (for dipping)
Instructions
- Prepare Cookie Dough: In a medium bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar until smooth and creamy. Mix in the vanilla extract and milk until combined. Add the heat-treated flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
- Shape Truffles: Scoop and roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Chill the truffles in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Coat Truffles: While the truffles chill, melt the chocolate or candy coating in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate, using a fork to lift and tap off excess. Place them back on the parchment-lined sheet and refrigerate until the chocolate is set.
Notes
- To heat-treat flour, microwave it in a heat-safe bowl for 1 minute or bake at 350°F for 5 minutes to eliminate any risk of bacteria.
- You can drizzle with white chocolate or top with sprinkles for decoration.
