Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 10×15-inch jelly roll pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
  2. Prepare the Cake Batter: Beat eggs and granulated sugar until thick and pale. Add vanilla extract. Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gently fold dry ingredients into the egg mixture.
  3. Bake the Cake: Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 10–12 minutes. Remove from oven, dust a kitchen towel with powdered sugar, invert cake onto towel, remove parchment paper, and roll cake with towel. Let cool.
  4. Prepare the Filling: Whip cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  5. Assemble the Swiss Roll: Unroll cooled cake, spread whipped cream over it, re-roll without towel, and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Optional Topping: Drizzle with chocolate ganache before serving.
