Ingredients
Scale
Meat Mixture
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
Dough & Cheese
- 1 tube Pillsbury Pizza Dough
- 5 colby jack and cheddar cheese sticks, halved
Butter Brush
- 4 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
- Cook the Beef: Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning mix according to the packet instructions. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Prepare the Dough: On a floured surface, roll out the Pillsbury pizza dough tube and cut it into 10 equal-sized rectangles for easy assembly.
- Assemble the Taco Sticks: Place a spoonful of the seasoned beef onto each dough rectangle, then add a halved cheese stick on top. Roll the dough around the filling tightly and pinch the edges to seal. Arrange the prepared sticks on the lined baking sheet.
- Brush with Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter with garlic powder and dried parsley. Brush this flavorful mixture evenly over each taco stick to enhance browning and add delicious taste.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the taco sticks are puffed up and golden brown.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and let the taco sticks cool slightly. Serve warm with your favorite dips such as salsa, sour cream, or guacamole for a tasty treat.
Notes
- You can substitute the cheese sticks with your favorite types of cheese if desired.
- Make sure to seal the edges of the dough well to prevent any filling from leaking during baking.
- For extra spice, add some chopped jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the beef mixture.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven for best texture retention.
