Description

Cheesy Taco Sticks are a delicious and easy-to-make snack featuring seasoned ground beef and melted cheese wrapped in soft pizza dough. Perfect as a party appetizer or a fun meal for the family, these savory sticks are brushed with a flavorful garlic butter mixture and baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat Mixture

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix

Dough & Cheese

  • 1 tube Pillsbury Pizza Dough
  • 5 colby jack and cheddar cheese sticks, halved

Butter Brush

  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
  2. Cook the Beef: Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning mix according to the packet instructions. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Dough: On a floured surface, roll out the Pillsbury pizza dough tube and cut it into 10 equal-sized rectangles for easy assembly.
  4. Assemble the Taco Sticks: Place a spoonful of the seasoned beef onto each dough rectangle, then add a halved cheese stick on top. Roll the dough around the filling tightly and pinch the edges to seal. Arrange the prepared sticks on the lined baking sheet.
  5. Brush with Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter with garlic powder and dried parsley. Brush this flavorful mixture evenly over each taco stick to enhance browning and add delicious taste.
  6. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the taco sticks are puffed up and golden brown.
  7. Serve: Remove from the oven and let the taco sticks cool slightly. Serve warm with your favorite dips such as salsa, sour cream, or guacamole for a tasty treat.

Notes

  • You can substitute the cheese sticks with your favorite types of cheese if desired.
  • Make sure to seal the edges of the dough well to prevent any filling from leaking during baking.
  • For extra spice, add some chopped jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the beef mixture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven for best texture retention.
