Description

This Brown Sugar Garlic Chicken recipe features tender, juicy chicken breasts baked to perfection with a sweet and savory garlic brown sugar glaze. It’s a quick and easy dish that’s perfect for weeknight dinners, offering a delightful combination of flavors and a luscious pan sauce to enjoy with your favorite sides.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Garlic Brown Sugar Glaze

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

Garnish

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare garlic mixture: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a small skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil and sauté the minced garlic for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant but not browned. Remove from heat and stir in the brown sugar until fully combined to create the glaze.
  2. Season the chicken: Lightly grease a baking dish and place the chicken breasts inside. Season both sides of the chicken with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika if using for an added smoky flavor.
  3. Apply glaze and bake: Evenly spread the brown sugar and garlic mixture over each chicken breast. Bake the chicken uncovered in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the chicken is cooked through.
  4. Finish and serve: Once baked, spoon the flavorful pan juices over the chicken to keep it moist. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving to add a pop of color and fresh taste.

Notes

  • Serve the chicken with mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables to absorb the delicious pan sauce.
  • For a crispier top, broil the chicken for 1–2 minutes at the end of baking.
  • You can substitute bone-in chicken thighs for the breasts; adjust baking time accordingly to ensure they are fully cooked.
