Description

This Big Mac Pizza recipe delivers the iconic flavors of a classic Big Mac burger transformed into a delicious and fun pizza. Featuring seasoned ground beef, a special tangy sauce reminiscent of the original, cheddar and mozzarella cheese, and fresh toppings like pickles, onions, and shredded lettuce, this homemade pizza offers a perfect blend of savory and fresh elements. It’s a creative and satisfying meal that brings the best of two favorites onto one crust.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Pizza Base and Toppings

  • 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning or 1 tbsp hamburger seasoning
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup pickles, sliced
  • 1/4 cup onions, finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1/4 cup special sauce (recipe below or use Thousand Island dressing)

For the Special Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped pickles or relish
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and prepare your pizza dough by rolling it out on a baking sheet or pizza stone to ensure a crispy crust.
  2. Cook the Ground Beef: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat. Stir in the taco seasoning or hamburger seasoning thoroughly, then set aside.
  3. Make the Special Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, finely chopped pickles or relish, white vinegar, paprika, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning to your preference for that signature tangy flavor.
  4. Assemble the Pizza: Spread a thin layer of the special sauce (or Thousand Island dressing) evenly over the prepared pizza dough. Evenly distribute the cooked seasoned ground beef over the sauce, then sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses on top.
  5. Bake the Pizza: Place the assembled pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust turns golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbling beautifully.
  6. Add Fresh Toppings: Remove the pizza from the oven and immediately top with the sliced pickles, finely chopped onions, and shredded iceberg lettuce. Drizzle with extra special sauce if desired to enhance flavor and moisture.
  7. Serve: Slice the pizza into 8 pieces and serve hot for a fun and tasty twist on the classic Big Mac experience, perfect for sharing or a family meal.

Notes

  • If you prefer, use store-bought Thousand Island dressing instead of making the special sauce for an easier shortcut.
  • For a crispier crust, pre-bake the pizza dough for 5 minutes before adding toppings.
  • You can customize the toppings by adding diced tomatoes or onions according to your taste.
  • Leftover pizza can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheated in the oven for best results.
  • Use lean ground beef to reduce excess fat and calories.
