Description

A quick and fun Banana Sushi recipe featuring bananas topped with melted dark chocolate and various coatings like sprinkles, chia seeds, shredded coconut, and rice krispies. Perfect as a simple, healthy snack or dessert that requires minimal prep time and no baking.

Ingredients

Scale

Sprinkles and Chia Seed Sushi

  • 1 banana
  • 2 squares dark chocolate
  • 1 tbsp sprinkles
  • 0.5 tbsp chia seeds

Coconut and Rice Krispie Sushi

  • 1 banana
  • 1.5 tbsp nut butter
  • 1.5 tbsp shredded coconut
  • 3 tbsp rice krispies

Instructions

  1. Peel the bananas: Carefully peel the bananas and place them on a plate or board, ready to be topped.
  2. Prepare Sprinkles and Chia Seed Sushi: Melt the dark chocolate squares gently until smooth. Pour the melted chocolate over one peeled banana, then evenly sprinkle either the sprinkles or chia seeds on top. Place the banana in the fridge to allow the chocolate to firm up.
  3. Prepare Coconut and Rice Krispie Sushi: Spread nut butter evenly over the surface of the other peeled banana. Roll the banana in shredded coconut or rice krispies to coat thoroughly.
  4. Serve: Once set or coated, slice the bananas into bite-sized pieces like sushi and serve immediately for a fresh, sweet snack.

Notes

  • Use dark chocolate for a richer, less sweet flavor and extra antioxidants.
  • Refrigerate the chocolate-covered banana until firm to avoid melting.
  • You can substitute nut butter with sunflower seed butter for a nut-free option.
  • For a crunchier texture, add extra rice krispies or toasted coconut flakes.
  • Serve immediately after preparing the coconut and rice krispie version to prevent sogginess.
