Ingredients
Scale
Potatoes
- 4 medium russet potatoes (scrubbed and dried)
Seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes to ensure even cooking from the start.
- Prepare the potatoes: While the air fryer preheats, rub each potato thoroughly with olive oil. Then sprinkle evenly with kosher salt and black pepper to season the skins.
- Arrange potatoes: Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring space between them for proper air circulation which is essential for crispiness.
- Air fry the potatoes: Cook the potatoes for 35–45 minutes, depending on their size. Turn them halfway through the cooking time to ensure even cooking and crispy skin all around. The potatoes are done when skins are crispy and a fork easily pierces the center.
- Serve: Remove the potatoes carefully and let them cool slightly. Slice open each potato and fluff the insides with a fork. Serve with your favorite toppings such as butter, sour cream, cheese, chives, or bacon.
Notes
- For faster cooking, pierce the potatoes several times with a fork before air frying to allow steam to escape.
- Yukon Gold or sweet potatoes can be used with this recipe; adjust cooking time accordingly as these varieties cook differently.
- Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket to allow proper air circulation for crispiness.
